Totally inappropriate workout song

This song is not exactly the cleanest song in the world, but it gave me a HUGE ab workout and leg workout today. May have to do that every day and I'll be ready to look good on my wedding day!

If you have any other great workout songs (inappropriate or not), I'd love to hear them!

Kids say the funniest things

So, this past weekend I was back in my hometown and my favorite little munchkins wanted to come over to their Paw Paw and Bebe's house to go swimming (which are my parents). I drove across town to my sister's house to hang out for a bit and then bring them back with me.

On the way home, Montgomery (my nephew who is going into the 5th grade) was trying to explain to me how much cooler he will be in middle school if he had a cell phone. So, I decided to let him speak his mind on why he felt like in possibly a year, why he would need a cell phone. Being 10 years old, he couldn't exactly come up with anything- besides the fact it would make him cooler.

My nephew also tried to tell me how popular he is already at his elementary school. This makes me chuckle because to me he's just a 10 year old little turd nugget who enjoys dumb shows like iCarly (okay it's not that dumb) and SWEARS he HATES justin bieber - even though he has his hair exactly like him (SO CUTE!).

The whole time this is going on, Tess is in the back seat unraveling her braid and yelling out "Look, it's curly! I want my hair to look like this! It's so pretty!" Tess is going into the first grade, and to Montgomery she's the annoying little sister - but she's the sweetest little girl you will ever meet!

So, I asked Montgomery if Tess was popular since she had "such a cool older brother" and his remark was "I mean, I guess" hahaha I, of course have to ask Tess and she seriously had the sweetest remark I've ever heard

"I mean, I'm really nice to everyone and everyone is really nice to me, so I guess that makes me popular" What a little heart warmer that was! Of course Montgomery made a gag face as I was cupping my heart so it wouldn't overflow in the car with love.

I guess there really isn't a moral to the story besides the fact that I just adore those two kids.

Taking a Break

I am taking a break from the blogger challenge and writing about my actual life. Crazy, I know.

Before we start, I need to take a minute to think about my poor kitty cat - Mazzy - she is in the middle of getting her girl parts all sewed up today. She hollered the whole way to the vet and the whole time we were there. I felt like a bad mom, but I know this is for the best! She wants to be an outside kitty and outside kitties don't need to be fooling around and getting pregnant.

Speaking of Kitties, my sister's cat (which is Mazzy's sister) had baby kitties yesterday - I'm going home again this weekend and I can't wait to go play with them. Baby anything are my weekness! We found baby bunnies this past weekend and they were adorable!

I hope everyone has a fabulous Thursday - I'll be spending it figuring out which gym we are going to attend since ours decided to shut down - which was completely weird. I'll also be going for a run and catching up on ROONJ (Real housewives of New Jersey) and PLL (Pretty Little Liars)

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 11

I believe ...

  • I believe that you don't always have to act your age
  • I believe that two wrongs don't make a right
  • I believe that the ocean is a natural stress reliever
  • I believe in true and honest love
  • I believe that you will always get when you give in life
  • I believe in karma - and that shit always comes and finds you
P.S. I tried to put a picture but blogger is being super weird. Oh well.

30 day blogger challenge - Day 10

Favorite T.V. Shows

I love junk T.V. Any girl fights or drama - I'm so there. Any celebrity news - count me in. Anything ridiculously funny and pointless - I'll watch it! The problem I have is the other person who is in the house doesn't agree with my taste - FH doesn't like all that girl drama (so he says, but sometimes he'll get real quiet when it's on and his eyes won't move away from the moniter). SO - I have to learn to compromise and I've learned I like more than just trash T.V.!

Here are MY favorite shows
-ANY real housewives of "Fill in the blank" but New Jersey and Beverly Hills are my fav with OC coming in at a CLOSE second.
-Pretty Little Liars - OBSESSED
-Cougartown - I am Ellie and it kind of scares me when I watch it
-Modern Family - LOVE
-Keeping up with the K's - Those Kardashians have my heart, seriously love them
-Chelsea Lately - I've been watching this dang show since it's premiered, I love it and I love her (I've read all of her books and have seen her perform. True Inspiration I tell ya)
-House Hunters- I've been searching for my dream home for a hot minute and I love watching other people do it too!
-And basically anything on E!

Shows I am admitting to loving but probably shouldn't
-Jersey Shore - YEP i'm one of those people who are giving them higher ratings so they can make way more money than me just to get sloshed and be ridiculous
-I can almost put Pretty Little Liars in here again, the only reason I openly admit it is because it seems like I'm not the only one
-Teen Mom - I hate that I can't take my eyes off of the T.V. when it's on - totally shouldn't be promoting that!

Shows both the FH and I can watch together
-Two and a half men- We love this show!
-Man vs. Food - We love Adam, he's such a goof!
-True Blood - SOOKIE
-Weeds - we became obsessed not too long ago and spent all last summer catching up on all of the seasons! can't wait for this season to start!!
-Swamp People - this has become one of our newest favorite shows, if you haven't seen it, you SHOULD! Anybody wrestling alligators or crocs is always a good time
-Tosh.0 - FH and I use to watch him late night in college when he would only come on at 2 in the morning on Saturdays and DIE laughing - so glad he has his own television show now.

There are a ton more that I enjoy watching, and I seem like such a T.V. junkie after that - I really don't watch a lot of T.V. but these are my go to shows.

30 day blog challenge - Day 9

What are you afraid of?

Considering I have severe anxiety disorder - that would mean just about everything. Well, not EVERYTHING...

My main things would be:
1- The Dentist. I have to take pills just to deal with it.
2- Spiders - Just the thought of them makes me want to throw up.
3- Any instance where I am not in control - especially traffic jams and airplanes. Don't even ask me to get on a cruise boat.
4- Growing old

I've learned the past couple of years that just because you are afraid of something, doesn't mean you have to let it affect your life. The past way to overcome your fear is to face it, it will back down!

After learning this, I've done many thing that I thought I would never do. SO, watch out world!

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 8

Friends

My existence in this world would not be complete if I didn't have people to run to who are just as sarcastic and bitchy as I am.

You know those thoughts that run through your head that you always hold back because they are too vain, insensitive, mean, "effed" up, vulgar, immature, vile, or narcissistic? Well, with my friends, it's completely okay for me to say them - because they usually feel the same way.

I love all of my friends, not all of them are put here in these pictures. If you are reading this, and we are friends, just know I appreciate you and thank you for making me laugh (because if you are my friend, that means you're funny) and thanks for putting up with me (I can be a lot to handle).

It's also Friday, which means, it's the weekend. And I get to see one of my very bestest (she's in the 3rd picture with me) this weekend. She's coming in from Seattle. CANNOT wait to see my Lar Lar.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 7

Your Favorite Movie(s)

My all time favorite movie is Office Space. I use to be able to quote the whole entire movie (ask my high school friends, they will also tell you how annoying it was).

I do have other movies in the running that I can continuously watch over and over and they are:
-Anchorman
-Talladega Nights
-Hangover
-Step-Brothers
-Wedding Crashers
-Zoolander
-Old School
-Ace Ventura (Pet Detective)
-Romeo and Juliet (Leo Dicap and Claire Danes one)
-The Notebook (DUH, i'm a girl)
-Billy Madison
-Happy Gilmore
-Goodfellas (or any mob movie with robert dinero and joe pesci)
-No Country for Old Men
-Finding Nemo (or any child movie that I can watch with my nephew and niece and not feel like a weirdo)

I mostly like funny movies, I don't like drawn out drama - but those are the FH favs. I'll watch them, get interested, and be done with it. No reason to see it over and over. Maybe twice.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 6

A Picture of something that makes you happy.

I have a ton of pictures that make me happy (I was just going through them and going, "what about this one? what about this one?" out loud in my dining room - alone. Yep, i'm weird) BUT one of my favorites that is on my computer (I have a ton that are stored away in actual photo albums and NOT on facebook or iphoto) would be this one.

This is my family. We got grandma, parents, sisters, nephew and niece, and soon to be husband. Plus, this was the first time I had ever been to Charleston (Why did I wait so long?) and this also is the week Michael Jackson died (don't laugh, i'll always remember that trip because of it ha!)

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 5

Your siblings

I have HANDS DOWN the most amazing sister ever. She is eight years ahead of me, but we're best friends. Growing up, my sister did everything for me - which is why I can also blame her for me being so spoiled. She would wake me up in the morning and put my clothes together. She would fix my cereal and put on Garfield. By the way - this was WAY before Mom and Dad would get up. My sister was always an early riser. As soon as the light would creep up in the sky, Ashley would be up.

I have grown to watch my sister become the woman she is today, and she is such an inspiration. She is a loving mother, a dedicated wife, a terrific daughter/daughterinlaw, and I am so fortunate to be able to call her my sister. She is SO funny, if you know her, you know her laugh is contagious. I love being around her because I know I'll always be smiling. She's such a hard worker and always puts 100% into everything she does.

I don't understand how she juggles all 2093480293 things in her life, but she never misses a beat.
Of course she is my Matron of Honor, and I wouldn't want any other person standing beside me on my big day.

I LOVE YOU ASHLEY!! :)

30 day blog challege - Day 4

Your parents.

My parents are the best. I look more like my mom, but my personality is more like my dad. I'm the more calm - "let it slide" type of person - which is like dad.

My parents have always been so supportive of me and even though I've almost given them a heart attack at times - they have never judged me or any of my friends. They are so open-minded and loving and caring. I wouldn't be the person I am today without them and I love them very much.

Day 2 of 30 day blog challenge

Day 2
What does your blog name mean?

"Down the street from here.."

Well, considering this blog is about my adventures with my significant other, a big part of who we are is the fact we grew up "down the street" from each other. Also, I consider myself to be a bit neighborly so you can kind of feel like I am only "down the street" from where you are. (that last part was lame but whatevs. don't act like you didn't like it)

Exhausting

I never understood how exhausting wedding planning was until this weekend. Phil and I seriously spent the entire weekend figuring out that special day. I know it's 10 months away, and that seems like forever, and it feels that way too, but I just want to get it done. Since we live about 3 hours away from our home and the place we are having our wedding, every opportunity we get to get on top of planning - we do.

I am just so glad it's finally starting to have a feel and look to it. I can almost picture it when I close my eyes.

As soon as things REALLY come along, I'll update more. We do have where our reception is taking place. I am keeping my fingers crossed today that where we are wanting to have our ceremony isn't booked!! I'll post pictures when we figure out if we are having it there! :)

30 day blog challege - Day 1

1st comes 1st.

Here is ME: On my 21st birthday - which was a couple of years ago, but I think this picture describes me pretty well.

15 facts about me.

1-I have a fiancee. He's pretty amazing.
2-I drive really fast, I feel like every where I am going is a race.
3-I have a Black Lab and a Black kitty with some white spots. They are my fur children
4-Two of my favorite people in the world are my niece and nephew
5-There isn't a bed big enough for me to take over. I am a serious bed hog.
6-I love computer games - so nerdy
7-I was kicked out of college - but I begged my way back in and worked my ass off - one of the best lessons I've ever learned.
8-I have never had an argument or fight with my older sister, straight love!
9-I met my fiancee when we were 6, he lived in the same neighborhood as me and we grew up as good friends. (No, it wasn't love at first sight - that took about 13 years later)
10-I still have no idea what I want to do with my life.
11-I am a Alpha Delta Pi alum!
12- For some odd reason it is way easier for us to keep an animal alive than a plant
13- I have super high anxiety, but I've overcome so many obstacles lately that have made fighting it easier (moving to SC, getting on a 5 1/2 hour plane flight to seattle, staying home alone for more than one night in a row..etc)
14-I have a super close family - as in we have a family get together almost every weekend. (Wouldn't have it any other way since my family is SO cool to hang out with)
-living in SC has made this more difficult to go to them all, but I try to make it to as many as possible!
15-I am very sarcastic, other may call be the "B" word at times, but once you get to know me, I'd like to think i'm super nice. (RIGHT??)

Don't you dare laugh at this photo - Okay you can totally laugh at it because it's ridiculous. I'm not really sure what my parents were thinking putting my sister and I in matching outfits.

I'm the little brunette to the left. You can't even tell that we're related, but I promise we have the same parents.

Serious Target Freak Out

So, yesterday I went to Target to pick up a couple of things and decided to swing by the clothing department (because face it, you can't just walk past it). I saw this super cute outfit that would be wonderful for both work and every day outtings. I went to the dressing room to try it on, and low and behold the pants were almost to small.

Freak out NOW.

Seriously, I can't go up another size - I just can't. In the past two years I went up two sizes!!

So, I quickly jogged over to the work out section and picked up nice running outfits. (because I needed to JOG and work off some of this weight) I picked up some cute shorts like this pair of Champion yoga shorts.
I'm in like major freak out mode. I'm getting married in about 10 months. I REFUSE to go try on wedding dresses feeling like this. SO, from this point forward - my running isn't going to just be once a week, or when I can find time. I am seriously going to run as much as humanly possible (well not really) but you know what I mean.

And no more, "it's okay if I get Moe's tonight" type ordeals.

I can't gain anymore weight, I seriously refuse. What frustrates me the most is I don't even feel that big. Honestly, I'm not even that big - but I can't get any bigger. I can't afford to.

I can buy a new outfit here and there, but unless I win the lottery tomorrow - I seriously can't buy a new wardrobe. UGH.

I can still fit into MOST of my dresses  and my tops are all fine, it's just my pants, shorts and skirts. Well, you can obviously tell where I put on all my weight. Damn you ass, legs and hips.

Anyways, this is my weight vent. Hopefully, the next time I have something to say about weight it will be something along the lines of, "I've lost weight!!" Let's hope!
